The Universal Foe #1: The University
The Cosmogonic Cause Uniting A New Right | The Universal Foe the University and Universalism
With the fall of communism, the right is lost. Many ponder why Curtis Yarvin is in many ways the central figure of the dissident right, I believe the answer is that he correctly identified the common enemy, the thing that everyone on the right can agree about. There are disagreements, about whether there are other enemies of equal or greater importance, within the right, but all can agree the Cathedral is a central problem. The right disagrees a lot, as the left does, but they succeed where we fail, we must learn from them. The left unites around attacking their shared enemies, the right too often fails to realise it can respond in kind, after all, it is thought, we build, we do not deconstruct. We see virtue in the ancient institutions of society but we must overcome this tendency for the Cathedral, it is an institution that is almost universally aligned against all our interests, this is a situation where we can be leftists, we can tear it down.
I think we can agree that every other form of progress is a moot point when we now have ~50% of Gen-Z in the West attending Universities. They are sent through these institutions and they are to various extents indoctrinated into the ideology of the status quo or radical leftism, in 3 or 4 year-long programs. Even those who are in the hard sciences and engineering swim in this milieu. For those studying the social sciences and humanities not only are they learning garbage, but it is also purely left-wing garbage. This is something we can agree to unite around since, libertarians, conservatives, traditionalists, nationalists and reactionaries all have reasons why they should want to abolish Universities.
Everyone from every side of the political spectrum should agree to abolish these fields regardless because they are pseudosciences and we should bring to these discussions the epistemic critique as well, which is robust and what ultimately justifies what we are doing, but from a practical perspective we should not use this as an argument to the proletariat beyond really obvious problems like the replication crisis etc, since it will be adequate for regular right-wing people to merely hear that almost all researchers in the social sciences are left-wing. Though we must clearly push for the total abolition of these departments because they are both methodologically and ideologically fucked and corrupt, this is the goal, we do not stop short of a wholesale abolition of the social sciences.
Let me be clear, I am not arguing for the abolition of the hard sciences and engineering but I am arguing we obliterate almost everything else from the University and restructure many elements and incentives in the hard sciences.
Libertarian Argument
The libertarian argument in favour of this is, idgaf whether or not it is good science or bad science after all taxation is theft, the University is ultimately an arm of the state. It receives massive state funding, tax exemptions and anti-competitive regulatory advantages therefore at a minimum all these special treatments should be rescinded and revoked. Though doing this for all departments would be ideal the social sciences are better than nothing and also they fuel the policy which legitimises big government so getting rid of them would be a considerable boon to the libertarian cause.
For cucked gay libertarians, you should at least agree, gender studies should be paid for by people who despise it.
Conservative Argument
Conservatives, look you have been losing for a long time, evidently, a weak position like Buckley’s with regard to academic freedom has just allowed the situation to get worse, we need outright abolition. The relative benefit here is obvious, there are a handful of conservative colleges, the death of Hillsdale is well worth the end of subsidising the enemies of conservatism. By abolishing the social sciences conservatives might finally be on a level playing field with leftists.
Banning CRT in schools is treating the symptoms, as my Sith Lord Curtis Yarvin has said, “it’s a great way to get CRT renamed”. Leftist ideology is antifragile, it will find a way to get around this, it will find new ways to tear down the values and standards of society. All the intelligent kids in these classes are going to wind up at University and are going to get indoctrinated into these ideas almost immediately upon receiving their right to vote. The more elite the institution they go to the worse it will be. I know, right now CRT is ideological orthodoxy at the number one residential liberal arts college at Melbourne University, one does not need to take my word for it though, just look at what occurred at Yale with Christakis, many such cases. Treating the symptoms is the way to keep losing. This has been the recurring way that conservatives have failed, accepting the left’s frame and operating within in it, reject the left’s frame! They design the game so they cannot lose, they cheated fair and square! Excise the tumour at its root, stop trying to treat the symptoms.
Conservatives cannot win against entrenched leftism in Universities, it is simply implausible, you are asking people to give up 15 years of their life to work as slave labourers to left-wing ideologues simply to get tenure so that they can assume some degree of independence, but even then they will not get any citations and they will be relegated to academic oblivion and you have to convince people to do this at a higher rate than leftists if you hope to obtain a foothold in these fields, it is fundamentally impractical and absurd. The left did this under circumstances where they were already in the majority in these institutions, now you want to do a long march through the institutions when they have complete control? You are delusional. The only reasonable path is the outright eradication of the social sciences, everything else is fantasy.
In the age of the internet, there are much better ways to get a good education in the liberal arts or classics, you do not need to attend a university in order to get that.
The Forthright Enemies of Universalism
These arguments are much shorter because these three elements of the right reject Universalism and so for them little argument need be presented in favour of eradicating the institution most responsible for its promotion.
Traditionalist Argument
The Trad argument is easy, and obvious, do I need to say anything here, if you want me to convince you that universities have always been terrible for traditional values and way of life then you are not Trad. The intellectual power of traditionalism for the most part comes from outside the University context, the Church and just straight up old people wisdom.
Nationalist Argument
This argument is really the same as the argument for conservatives, except that you guys have even less institutional representation. At a minimum, as a starting point, you should want to abolish these fields even if you want to recreate them in a better form down the road.
Reactionary Argument
This argument has been made extensively, it is basically a core tenant of neoreactionary thought that the social sciences are rendered inept whenever political power is justified by the popular will since they will be used to manipulate it. RAGE, Retire All Government Employees, also clearly applies here.
Conclusion
This is the way to go, targeting other institutions will appear arbitrary and will inspire the libertarians to go off their rocker and the cuckservatives will be concerned that it will elicit left counter-attacks, (if the mainstream media was the target for instance, of course, this will happen anyway). Thus The Cathedral is the best enemy and all practical internet intellectual firepower should be aimed at destroying its legitimacy. We know we can influence the conversation, Tucker Carlson, Michael Knowles and others appear to now be adopting talking points of the dissident right and other radical right-wing thinkers have been gaining traction. There have been encouraging signs that the right’s leftward movement is slowing, but we should not be at all hopeful, now everything is dire, we do all in resignation.
I will make my own post about delegitimising the Cathedral soon and in the coming years, I will publish more critiques and they will grow increasingly rigorous as well as mathematical.
P.S. all this applies to commerce degrees as well because they are bs, you do not need a Bachelor’s degree to work in management or finance it is absurd, obviously we would get rid of that shit too, these things are best done through on the job experience combined with some theoretical education undertaken in parallel. Credentialed lefties in HR and marketing are also a massive problem, a much bigger problem than aforementioned finance and management.
